September 18: Brunswick South families packed out
the Palace Theatre, Westgarth tonight for a screening of "Up!". It was a
wonderful way to finish the term, with the evening ending with many of the
children dancing on the stage to the final credits. We wish all our families a
happy and safe holiday and look forward to seeing you all again in Term 4.

September 17:
The Grade 5-6 children visited the Immigration Museum today, as the
final activity in their "Australian Identity" unit. They participated in
the "Passport Plus" program, which helped them to understand the
experiences of migrants from different periods in Australia's history.
They were also able to explore the many fascinating exhibitions at the
Museum. Thanks to Brett for organising the activity and to Brett and
Jenny for looking after the children at the Museum. |

September 16: After two terms of Bike
Education, our Grade 5 students are now such confident cyclists that
they were able to participate in a full-day bike ride. Their travels
took them to Dights Falls, the Velodrome and to Ceres. The program has
been an outstanding success, thanks to the enthusiasm of Andy (4/5AR)
and the help of the parents and friends who have accompanied the
children on their weekly rides. Well done to all the children for
becoming such capable and safe cyclists! |

September 15: Explosions rocked the yard as
the Grade 1-2 students hosted our annual Volcano-Rama event! The
children had made an amazing array of volcanoes, which erupted to the
cheers of parents and students. Science is a core part of our
curriculum, so it's great to see the children having such fun while
learning. Thanks to Andy P and Sarah for making our junior science
program so exciting! |

September 14: The Grades 3-6 children took
part in a range of science and maths programs at Scienceworks today.
These included the investigation of the forces and energy used by simple
machines (Grade 3), the science of sports (Grade 4) and the everyday
uses of "mathamazing" maths (Grade 5-6). The day finished with everyone
viewing the southern skies at the Planetarium. Thanks to Suzie (3S) for
organising this fantastic day for our middle and senior students. |

September 7 and 8: Congratulations
to all the students for their fantastic performances at "Seussical the Musical"
on Monday and Tuesday evenings. The performances were absolutely uplifting and
inspirational and the team effort to organise and run such a great production
was outstanding. Thanks also to all the staff, students, parents, carers and all
the other members of our school community who have helped us in some way in
making the production such a success.
