21 December: Our final day of school for 2007!
We hope that you all have a happy and safe holiday, and look forward to another
wonderful year at Brunswick South in 2008.
18
December: We said goodbye to our Grade 6 class this evening at a Graduation
Dinner for the students, their teachers and families. The children all looked so
grown-up in their formal clothes and spoke with great maturity, humour and
sincerity about their time at primary school. We wish them all the best as they
move into secondary schooling and thank them for their contribution to Brunswick
South over the last seven years.

14 December:
The end of the school year is almost here! To celebrate a happy and
successful 2007, the Grade 2-6 classes shared a pizza lunch at Princes
Park, while the Prep-1 children enjoyed a sit-down catered lunch in the
hall at school. It was a very hot day, but fortunately we also had icy
poles to cool everybody down (and wake them up) after their delicious
meals! |

13 December: As
our final Arts event for the event for the year, we were visited by
Circus Maximus. The whole school attended the exciting and funny
performance, which included juggling (with batons and hats, and with
fire as the finale!) and very high unicycle riding. The Grade 5-6
children also attended a juggling workshop with the performers, and have
been juggling around the school ever since! Thanks again to Lucy for
organising a wonderful and creative Arts program that has really engaged
the children all year. |

7 December: They've been waiting for this
all year, and finally it was time for the Grade 2 sleepover! The event
started with afternoon tea at school, followed by a walk to the
playground at Curtain Square for games and fun on the equipment. Pizza
and fish and chips were delivered to the park for dinner, then it was
back to school for a campfire, toasted marshmallows and a delicious
jelly dessert. After some quiet time and a movie, the tired children all
fell into bed (but woke up far too early in the morning)! Thanks to
Jenny and Marg for sleeping over with the children, and to Andy and
Rachel for helping out during the evening. This night is an
important introduction to the school camping program, and the children
can now look forward to the Grade 3-4 camp next year. |
