February 2007
Home Up Our School Teaching Classes Community

February 28: Grades 2-6 participated in a hockey clinic run by Hockey Australia. Hook in2 Hockey is Hockey Australia's national participation program, and is designed as a safe and fun introduction to the game. From the number of children now asking to borrow hockey equipment at lunchtime, we can judge that the clinic was a great success! Thanks to Rod (5/6R) for organising the event.

February 15: Our annual Picnic Under the Peppercorn Tree was, as always, a wonderful evening at Brunswick South. It was great to see so many families relaxing and enjoying the event. We all especially enjoyed meeting the new prep families, and other new members of our school community. Thank you to everyone for making this such a friendly and welcoming night.

February 14: Teachers participated in a Curriculum Day, focusing on our goals, strategies and plans for the future. We are all very proud of our school and are always looking for ways to make it even better. Full details of our School Strategic Plan for 2006-2009 and our Annual Implementation Plan for 2007 can be found here.

February 7: Our first Ride to School Day for 2007 was an outstanding success! Over half of our students participated and our bike shed was full to overflowing with bikes, scooters and skateboards. We even had several students roller skating to school! The pancake lunch organised by Andy (4/5A) was also much appreciated. Our next Ride to School Day will be held on March 28.

February 1: The first day of school for our 31 new Preps! We loved seeing so many new and excited little people coming into school for the first time. We welcome you and your families to our school and look forward to getting to know all about you.
