During 2008, Brunswick South, Port Melbourne and Tungamah primary schools joined together with CSIRO Education and La Trobe University to offer an online, multi-media Forensic Science program. The program was funded by a Federal Government grant through the Australian School Innovation in Science, Technology and Mathematics (ASISTM) project. The program was divided into two parts: an in-school Forensic Science unit, which was taught in each of the partner schools in the first half of the project and an online Forensic Challenge, which was undertaken by cross-school groups of students in the second half. Students were surveyed prior to the in-school unit to determine their level of knowledge about Forensic Science: Sample student surveys: one / two / three Survey summary PowerPoint pdf Below are samples of the teaching resources developed for the program, as well as samples of the work prepared by students throughout the year.
