March 2007
Home Up Our School Teaching Classes Community

March 30: Thanks to all our students, teachers and families for a wonderful Term 1. We wish you all a safe and happy holiday, and look forward to seeing you again in Term 2.

March 30: On our final day of Term 1, students participated in Crazy Hair Day, to raise funds for research about Cystic Fibrosis. Many creative and colourful styles were paraded! We raised over $150, which is a fantastic effort. Well done to all!

March 28: On our March Ride to School Day we also celebrated the opening of our fantastic new bike shed! The opening was attended by many supporters and guests, including Carlo Carli MP (State Member for Brunswick), Cr Mark O'Brien (Mayor, Moreland City Council) and Bicycle Victoria chief executive manager Harry Barber. To finish the day, we had a class-by-class parade of best dressed bikes and riders.  Thanks to Andy (4/5A) for all his hard work organising the day, and to all our sponsors for generously donating prizes for our parade.

March 28: As part of our health program, Lorraine (P/1L) arranged for presenters from the Melbourne Market to talk to the whole school about healthy eating. After the presentation, the children were treated to a huge variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, which were quickly devoured with much enjoyment!

March 26: Grades 2-6 had a wonderful day at the Melbourne Aquarium, followed by lunch at Southbank and a walk along the river. The Grade 2 class investigated "Dragons and Other Secrets of the Sea", while Grades 3-6 looked at "Whose Home?". These programs focus on the creatures and habitats of the southern ocean and Port Phillip Bay and at ways of preserving and maintaining aquatic environments. Thanks to Ursula (3/4U) for arranging the day.

March 21: Students celebrated Harmony Day with a range of multi-age games and activities organised across the school. Harmony Day provides an opportunity for all of us to celebrate our successes as a culturally diverse society and to recommit ourselves to harmony and mutual respect.
