Home Up Our School Teaching Classes Community

November 25: Parents and other family members joined Grades 3-6 in a "De-Construction" Day today. The aim of the day was to take apart a variety of objects to see how they were constructed and what made them work. The children were fascinated to find circuit boards, motors, fans and other parts inside electrical goods and also really enjoyed taking apart a pair of jeans! Thanks to all the family members who assisted and to Andy (4/5A) for arranging the day.

November 15: The feedback about our inaugural Art Show has been overwhelmingly positive. The children's artwork was beautifully displayed in the Hall, with many other activities taking place outside in perfect spring sunshine.  The music was fantastic, and it was wonderful to see the beaming smiles on the faces of the children’s and parents choir. Thank you again to Arthur who has been a wonderful Artist in Residence this year. Thanks also to all staff, children and parents who supported the Art Show and helped to make this such a successful community and fund-raising event.

November 10 and 17: There is always great excitement when members of the Fire Brigade come to visit for our annual Fire Education program! The firemen met first with the Grade 5/6 children to review their fire safety knowledge and to learn more about home fire safety. They also met with the Preps, who learnt about good fires and bad fires, the importance of having a home fire escape plan and how to behave in a fire. The children were later given a tour of the Fire Truck and had a turn with the fire hose!
