October 31: Today we were visited for the first time by the young people who will be our Prep class in 2008! There are three Prep Transition sessions held over October-November, where our new students meet each other, their teachers and the other students, including those who will be their Grade 6 buddies. We have known some of our new Preps since they were babies, so it was very exciting to see them all grown up and ready for school. We welcome all of our new children and their families to Brunswick South and really look forward to seeing you back again in Term 1 next year.
October 10-12: A wonderful time was had by all at the Grade 3-4 camp at Camp Rumbug, Waratah Bay. The many exciting activities arranged for the children included ropes courses, a giant swing, a boulder wall, initiative games, team work challenges, beach volleyball, surfing, Kids Disco, Talent night and a night walk on the beach. The students worked brilliantly together and really encouraged each other in the activities. There is always a wonderful sense of fun, achievement and togetherness at camp, with the children learning to deal with situations and to build resilience, strength and confidence through trying new things, taking risks and experiencing the adventure of outdoor education. Thanks to the teachers (Ursula, Andy, Margaret and Sally) and the wonderful staff at Camp Rumbug for making this such a successful event.
October 8: Welcome back to school for Term 4. We have a very busy term planned, with a highlight being our School Fete in November. We will also be welcoming the 2008 Prep class for Prep transition activities, and getting ready to farewell our wonderful Grade 6 students. The year has gone by very quickly, so let's enjoy the last few months of 2007! |
