Welcome to our
school! At Brunswick South we provide a stimulating and secure learning
environment that supports the personal and interpersonal development of
all students and equips them with the skills and knowledge to become
valued members of the community.
Our values of
respect, tolerance, equality, friendliness, dedication, commitment,
achievement and humour are the basis for all relationships in our school
community. At Brunswick South, learning for life is a genuine
partnership between staff, students and their families. Students are
valued through a weekly school assembly, contributions to our weekly
newsletter, ever-changing displays of work and constant positive
reinforcement from staff members and the wider school
community. Students also have many opportunities to develop leadership
skills (eg, through Junior School Council) and to become involved in
school and community activities. Parents are also very involved in
everything at school, from assisting in the veggie garden and orchard,
to organising our wonderful ‘Original Twilight Fete’, to teaching
violin, to helping in the classrooms. We love to see parents and
families around the school and especially enjoy the family feel of our
Monday morning assemblies. |

A key to our
success is our excellent communication and friendly relationships.
Teachers are always available to meet with parents and regularly phone
parents to discuss children’s progress or concerns they may have.
Parents are welcome to come and support their child in the classroom and
to visit the staffroom for a coffee if they are up at the school helping
out.
We are very lucky
to have a great gender balance on our staff, with three wonderful male
teachers, including a male prep teacher, as well as lots of switched on,
fabulous female teachers! We have a lot of fun at Brunswick South and we
embrace new students and families with kindness and an assurance that we
have a zero tolerance of bullying here, and we work hard to make sure
that everyone feels safe and happy each day.
